democratic elections have been marred by random
killings, mass arrests, torture and intimidation,
five main opposition groups alleged on Wednesday.

security forces of killing eight of their supporters

to scare their supporters ahead of elections.

elections say their supporters are being killed,
arrested, tortured and intimidated. The Coalition
for Unity and Democracy is an umbrella group of
opposition parties fielding candidates in the May 15
legislative elections.

Oromo political prisoners
worried for their security
This information was published by independent news
paper publishing organization in Ethiopia,called
Dagim Wanchif (Amharic version), and its literal
English translation may be “SLING/STRIKE IT AGAIN”.
According to the information from this source 238
Oromos are imprisoned in Addis Ababa prison house
called Karcahlle. After 12 years of imprisonment:
7 (seven) Oromos sentenced to death
7 (seven) Oromos sentenced to 25 years imprisonment
7 (seven) Oromos sentenced to life imprisonment
The conditions under which these people are treated
is described in the news paper. The atrocities the
Oromo people are facing in prison are beyond the
imagination of any human being and these people seek
utmost support if there is any. The Oromo prisoners
are crying and appealing to international human
rights organizations and governments to save their
lives.
