About Us:

We are an Oromo voluntary activist organization that works to prevent violations of people's fundamental civil and political rights in Ethiopia. We take action to free Oromo and other minority prisoners of conscience and to put an end to torture, and other cruel treatment of all prisoners; and end political killings and disappearances in Ethiopia. We advocate for economic, political and religious freedom. Oromo American Citizen Council (OACC) was established in 2002 to fight abuses of human rights in Ethiopia based on ethnic background. We in collaboration with other human rights watch organizations, investigate and expose human rights violations in Ethiopia. We challenge government of Ethiopia to end abusive practices and respect international human rights, which they have signed on at Geneva Convention (read). As US citizen we ask and pressure US government for not collaborating with Ethiopian government, unless the fundamental civil and political rights are garneted to Oromos and all oppressed people in Ethiopia.
